Ye Bhone Lin
I am an aspiring AI/NLP researcher with a deep focus on Southeast Asian languages, particularly Burmese. Currently, I am a Lab Member at the Language Understanding Laboratory (LU Lab), where I conduct research under the supervision of Dr. Ye Kyaw Thu at NECTEC. My work is centered on bridging the gap in digital representation for low-resource languages through innovative Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing techniques.
I graduated the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of the People, maintaining a high academic standing (GPA 3.75/4.00). My professional background includes significant experience in both research and industry. As an AI Engineer at Simbolo & SimboloAI, I spearheaded the development of cultural Text-to-Image generators and educational chatbots. I also contributed to global social impact projects as a Junior ML Engineer at Omdena AI, focusing on environmental and community challenges through predictive modeling.
My mission is to build scalable, robust, and research-driven AI systems that have real-world relevance. I am particularly interested in addressing challenges such as linguistic diversity, data scarcity, and model robustness. Through my research at LU Lab, I aim to contribute to the global AI community by developing open-source datasets and lightweight processing systems that empower users of underrepresented languages.
